A broad range of activity groups are operating to cater to the specific interests of the members.

Cinema
Enjoy a new release or a film festival movie at the Palace Cinema in Balwyn on the 1st Wednesday of each month.
Session time and chosen movie is confirmed the week before.
Coffee and Chat.
This group is open to all members and meets monthly for an informal conversational catch-up over a coffee at a variety of cafes in the local area.
Garden Appreciation
The Garden Appreciation group visit a garden or nursery, once in each season. This is a get yourself there activity with carpooling that can be organised. Lunch and refreshments are sometimes included or you will be advised to bring your own. Open to all members and friends.
Day Tours
Members are invited to a full day bus outing to an historical, coastal or regional location. Pick up from Camberwell Central Bowls Club. Enjoy a beautiful day out with a relaxed coach ride seeing the sights with other friendly members.
Get yourself There outings.
Members usually meet once a month. Dates vary to allow all members a chance to attend an outing. These are field trips, gallery visits, Train/Tram rides, visits to new construction and installations and the older architecture around the City.
Happy Hour
Happy Hour at the The Amora Hotel in Richmond at 5pm on the 4th Friday of the month at 5 pm. House drinks are at reduced prices. Share dishes are available to order (own cost) and there is a small quantity of free finger food supplied.
Major Events and Celebrations.
Have lots of fun and fellowship with friends. We celebrate Christmas in July, Christmas in December and other important occasions. We celebrate with a glass of wine on arriving with canapes, a two course seasonal lunch with suitable fun entertainment.
Malvern Theatre
There is a season of five plays throughout the year you can join for the whole season or just book in advance to attend individual plays. Plays are held on a Sunday afternoon at 2pm, you can join a group for lunch in a nearby cafe before the performance.
Monthly Lunch
Members of the group meet at a nominated venue for lunch. Popular places include, The Malvern Vale Hotel, The Arbory, The Abbotsford Convent, The Harp in Kew and the Amora Hotel in Richmond. This event does not occur when there is a Train to Pub lunch in the same month.
Musical Theatre
Enjoy live performances either at The Round at Nunawading, The Alexander Theatre at Monash University or a city theatre.
Picnic in the Park
A summer picnic is held at Wattle Park and we have also planned a Cup Day Picnic. BYO everything.
There are benches and tables available. Shady areas give respite in case of hot weather.
Train to Pub Lunch
A quarterly outing for a Pub lunch within easy walking distance of a metro or country train station.
Walking Group
This group meets on the 1st Tuesday of the month to walk around various landmarks close to our area. Walks are generally around 4k, with big hills avoided. At the end of the walk we have coffee in a local cafe. It is a good opportunity to get some exercise and have a chat at the same time.
